This is my first day with this beauty. So far, nothing but positives. I have had probably 5 HP laptops in the past ten years, not because they've failed me but because I like to get a new one every couple years. I love HPs they are the best laptops. I had a Toshiba for a couple months and the video card went out. Had a Compaq that held up nicely but not at pretty as HPs. I'm just a fan of HPs. Only issue I've had with them is the batteries wear out quickly but those are easily and cheaply replaced. This is extremely thin and lightweight. Feels like about half the weight of my previous HP. I love the keyboard. It has more finger room than expected going from a 17.3" to this 15.6". Tighter, yes, but not drastically so. Very quick internet browsing, fastest ever for me. I have been on Amazon all day long, Facebook, and Yahoo, each open in their own tab, and it's been smooth sailing so far. Very impressed. Now. Laptops are notorious for... I removed some but not all of the installed bloatware, leaving the hp games, movies, setup and manager softwares. I installed another 4GB memory stick for a total of eight GB (Control panel says 7.48 usable) Identifies the AMD A4 3300M processor with 1.9GHZ The Windows Experience Index tested out at 4.6 Processor: 5.3 Memory: 7.2 Graphics: 4.6 Gaming Graphics: 6.1 Primary Hard Disk: 5.9 First impressions: I really like the keyboard, feels sturdy and responsive. Track pad is silky smooth and left right clicks are also sturdy and responsive. This is my first HP product and I am initially very impressed, fit and finish are perfect. I do not prefer the high gloss finish, but will hopefully learn to... Screen looks great, stock windows 7 desktop images look fine, I may tweak the display at some... Needed a new laptop to replace my 3.5 year old HP laptop that was starting to freak out on me, but hadn't done too much research yet. I'm somewhat satisfied so far, but apprehensive about what's to come due to some minor problems I've had already. For starters, the DVD/CD drive is extremely difficult to open. Not sure if I just got a lemon, but I have to press WAY too hard on the open button to get it to open and it takes several tries to do it. I fear this drive might not open altogether soon. I've considered sending it back due to this concern, but think it might be too much of a hassle for something I'm not sure is a huge problem. The other concern is that, when I brought it out of "sleep" mode the other day, the screen started freaking out and showing some lines across it. Computer had to be restarted and it's worked fine since then. Maybe this was a one-time thing. Having had the computer for only two weeks, I'm... Read more |
